Two bits of good news came within 24 hours this week. The RVW Trust have very generously agreed to support the Phoenix Piano Trio’s wonderful Beyond Beethoven project, which commissions five composers to write new works for piano trio in response to Beethoven works for piano trio. The Phoenix trio, over five different programmes, will perform all of Beethoven’s music for piano trio and the five new works. Each programme is being repeated around the country, including all five programmes in London at The Forge and in Oxford at the Holywell Music Room.
On the same day I found out that the amazing Leche Trust has agreed to support Endymion and EXAUDI‘s Music for People project which is commissioning 4 composers to write new works for instruments and voices, to be premiered in London and Aberdeen, in conjunction with sound festival Scotland and the Southbank Centre in London. This support will be matched by the equally amazing Marina Kleinwort trust.
A MASSIVE thanks to both these trusts and their very supportive trustees.
If only every day was this great!
